The Luhberg, which is more reminiscent of a hill, boasts a beautiful plateau covered with trees. In the middle is a monument to the early Nazi Albert Leo Schlageter, which is questionable from today's perspective. He carried out bomb attacks in the Rhineland, which was occupied by the French in 1923, and was sentenced to death by a French military court. After the execution he was revered as a hero in the Weimar Republic (not only) by right-wing circles, which led to many monuments like this one. Unfortunately, there is no explanatory panel that classifies the historical events from today's perspective.

On the Luhberg near Stederdorf stands the Schlageter Monument, one of around a hundred monuments in Germany that commemorate the National Socialist Albert Leo Schlageter, who was sentenced to death by French occupying troops during the occupation of the Ruhr in 1923.
