In 1730, the Electorate of Saxony’s post mile column was erected with distance information to 68 places, with the current column being a copy from 1985.

On the historic Uebigauer Markt there is a 2003 renovated Electoral Saxon post distance column. The column was first erected on the market in 1730. Originally, however, two distance columns were planned for the city, whose planned locations in front of the Torgau Gate and the Munich Gate were determined by the mayor of Uebigau and some councilors on November 17, 1727 and marked with stakes. For cost reasons, however, only a single column was erected. In 1932 only the coat of arms of this column was left and the Uebigauer Beautification Association had it placed on a pyramid-shaped base made of bricks in a park on Beiersdorfer Strasse, where it had been for a long time. In 1985, the post mileage column was reproduced true to the original and set up again on the market square, and the preserved original coat of arms was handed over to the district museum in Bad Liebenwerda.
