Here is an impressive sandstone formation that extends southwest from Appenrode to the Bremke cemetery for several hundred meters. The rocks run largely parallel to Appenröder Straße and the L568. A possible access is a few meters behind the Appenrode Wendebachtal bus stop, where a beaten path on the right-hand side of Appenröder Straße (towards Appenrode) leads to the destination after approx. 100 m. Parts of this rock formation are well-known climbing areas such as the Rote Wand, Appenröder Wand and the swing wall.

A rock face as high as a house right by the village of Bremke with vertical walls that seem to have been shaped by giant hands. Also impressive are the fallen trees in front of the rocks, which give the whole ensemble the charm of a primeval forest
