    Rosenau Castle is located in the middle of a beautiful park in Unterwohlsbach, on the outskirts of the urban area of Rödental near Coburg, Bavaria. It is the birthplace of Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, who later became the consort of Britain's Queen Victoria. Today Rosenau Castle is used as a museum.

      Coming from the farm yard you reach the terrace on the north side of the castle. The round tower to the left of the path dates back to the medieval castle complex, but was renovated in its present form as a "guard house" in 1808/09. The Coburg master builder Gottlieb Eberhard designed the shell fountain in 1817.
