At this beautiful, well-kept refuge you have an excellent view of Vossenack and the ridge that slopes down to the former Lukasmühle, where the Germans had set up a first aid station. There the soldiers of the American 2nd Battalion came under artillery fire for days and finally fled back in a panic.
