In the spring of 1934, the general manager Max Fritzsche suddenly died. A feast of honor was consecrated to him a few meters below the restaurant. The head of the Zug leather works, Max Stecher, praised his authorized signatory as the “zealous sponsor of the Zugspitze”. The inscription was made illegible after 1945.
