The old town hall, a simple baroque building, was rebuilt after the devastating fire of April 15, 1805. 58 houses, the largest part of Beleck's old town, went up in flames in this fire, including the previous town hall with the town archive, in which valuable documents and the Soester flag captured in the Soest feud (1444-1449) were kept.

The Hessian state government set clear guidelines for the reconstruction (cf. “Hochfürstlich Hessisch-Darmstädtische Feuerverordnung” of June 18, 1767). The Deelen had to be built across the courtyard so that the harvest wagons could drive in easily. The standard dimensions for the half-timbered houses were 32 feet wide (about 11 meters) and 36 feet long (about 13 meters). For this purpose, wood from the city forest was made available free of charge. The citizens only needed a good six months to build the new old town, as is proven by numerous house inscriptions. The result is today's old town, which is a historical gem because of its chessboard-like floor plan and structural uniformity.

The old town hall now houses the town hall parlor, where civil weddings * take place, and the rehearsal room of the Belecke Music Association.
