Visible from afar, the landmark of Waldböckelheim, the Protestant mountain church. And we were lucky because the sexton unlocked us and showed us the inside of the church.

The sandstone church from the Dietzschen quarry in Waldböckelheim, built on a prominent location, was built from 1863 to 1867 according to the plans of the district architect Conradi. It is a three-aisled hall building with a choir closed on five sides in neo-Gothic shapes. The inauguration took place on July 28, 1867. The corners of the main nave are marked by buttresses that end in crabs and finials.The west tower has a square floor plan, above the gable roof level of the hall church, the tower continues in an octagon from this level. A finial, over three meters high, crowns the polygonal spire.
