Tips
This section takes you on a narrow path up to a ridge and then along a levada abandoned. The path next to the levada is partly overgrown, but for experienced hikers no problem. If the road is too adventurous for you, you can just hike on the little-used road.

Very nice alternative to the concrete / tarred road. Meanwhile, the path is also mown, because there is a trail running long runs. In the lower area, you walk alongside a 'Wildwaser' Levada. That was also the hardest part for us on the whole Caniçal-Porto da Cruz route (2019).
