The former central manor house of Wellersen ("Wasserschloss"), which was expanded like a castle, was demolished in 1967. The portal that was probably used earlier in the entrance area and later - after the house was destroyed in the Thirty Years War and reconstruction - as a basement portal could be preserved. It stood as a museum entrance in Dassel until 1996 and was re-erected in Wellersen on Junkernstrasse in October 1998 after renovation work.
