The Protestant monastery church was founded in 1132 by Archbishop Adalbert I of Mainz. The late Romanesque cruciform basilica initially belonged to an Augustinian canon monastery, to which a women's monastery was later attached. After the monastery was closed, the church was temporarily used as a Konrspeicher. After an extensive renovation, church services are taking place here again. The church is usually open during the day.
