It is a landmark of the ancient city and was built at the beginning of the 2nd century, most likely during the reign of the Roman Emperor Trajan. It was a simple construction. About 5,000 spectators were able to participate in violent games. It is still used today for various events: open-air cinema, cow fights, various performances.
