On the spot where the church once stood, only the cemetery, the gate and the bierhuisje remain. The whole is recognized as an independent national monument. In 2009, a work of art by Meschac Gaba was placed as part of the project 'Op height thought'. During the Christmas Flood of 1717, many people died by drowning. In the register of washed away and damaged Huusen, Verdronkene Menschen etc. at Wierhuizen it is stated that 17 houses were destroyed, 40 people and dozens of animals drowned.
