After my acrobatic tumble over "a rogue tree root" in Kloesebos yesterday, with a bruised ego, lots of bruises and general stiffness this morning... I went for a walk with well-trodden paths today. I admit there are greener and prettier walks, certainly around here, but I chose "safety" today.

I think I did about 10 benches today to look, listen and enjoy this beautiful area... the Teut, the Molenheide... the sandy soil, the heath and the fens... the forests.

One more time physiotherapy....and another walk near Bekkevoort.
This is the worst so far...too much concrete for my liking. And 2 times I had to find my own way, because there was no path anymore or the path was closed. So don't bother copying my walk. But being out walking is always nice...so I'm not complaining!😎🥾👍

Past Jodoigne (Geldenaken), along the main road to Charleroi, lies a small municipality Glimes. The Grote Gete river cuts the village in two, and right on its banks lies the Abbaye/Ferme de la Ramée.

The E314 cuts the Teut and the Tenhaagdoornheide in 2. The sound of the motorway is therefore not far away when you walk through these 2 nature reserves. One more on the border between Hageland and Haspengouw. Laar is just the last Dutch-speaking village before the language border. On one side they speak of the Kleine Gete, on the other side it is La Petite Gette....the same river...the same houses, the same people. Anyway... no matter what!

It was the perfect last late summer day for it. I think the part in the Velpevallei is still ideal now... if I read the comments at the highlights on this section, they speak of VERY muddy paths.. (now still completely dry).
