Mentioned for the first time by Dietrich von Wolfskuhlen in 1335, the site and the building, which has now fallen into disrepair and is in danger of collapsing, looks back on an eventful past and numerous owners. Today there are no more visible traces of the former castle complex with its defensive walls and towers. In its place rises a stately three-storey mansion built around 1800, above the main entrance - to which a wide flight of stairs led - and the coat of arms of the von Wevelinghoven Sittert family can still be seen.
