The Protestant church was built in 1860 on the foundations of the old stables. As early as 1853, the stables had been redesigned into a prayer room, which, along with other damage to the palace square buildings, fell victim to the town fire of 1858.
The stained glass window from 1888 with the larger than life "Christ invitator" is considered to be the most artistically valuable part of this church.
In 1892 the current Protestant church was supplemented by a tower. As with the Catholic parish church, the two bells had to be replaced twice (1926 and 1965). A third bell was added in 1965.
