Tips
The Hohe Garbe is a particularly well-preserved alluvial forest. These can only be found very rarely in Germany. The area of the Hohe Garbe was renatured again in a multi-year project by BUND e.V. The former dike was cut and old flood channels were dredged so that river water can flow into the alluvial forest again. Many trees and bushes have been planted.
