In the planning of the concert garden, his builders had set great store by preserving the pines of the coastal forest and uniting it with the dominant buildings, such as the lounge hall and stage, as well as the reading pavilion. The main entrance from the south side leads to a round place, in the middle of which stands a fountain made of typical clinker bricks with an expressive bronze sculpture "Die Lauschende" by the hobby sculptor Günter Brock from Rostock. From here, the visitor opens the view of the entire area with its squares, paths and green spaces. The concert garden has been designed in such a way that rows of spectators, round seats and the surroundings of the octagonal reed-covered column pavilion (1910), now the city library, are combined as a separate area to form a unified whole complex.
