The upper area of the park is particularly striking, a well-groomed lawn with flower beds and a memorial stone for the namesake, the writer and journalist Paul Ernst (1866-1933).
There is a nice view of the lake from the northern end of the upper section.
From there, Paul-Ernst-Park extends down the slope to the lake shore and from there about a kilometer further east to a small peninsula jutting out into the lake.
