Bridge 1 with bridge keeper's house over the Dessel-Turnhout-Schoten canal; the Turnhout-Schoten extension, which starts here just past the Oude Kaai, dates from 1863 . The old swing bridges, dynamited in 1940, were replaced by drawbridges after the war.
