Viticulture on the Lohrberger Hang has been documented since the Middle Ages. Since 1803, the vineyard, today the easternmost vineyard in the Rheingau and about 1.3 hectares in size, has been owned by the city of Frankfurt am Main. Every year, the Riesling grapes harvested here are enough for around 10,000 bottles of "Lohrberger Hang Riesling".
