After 1720, Oberlandbaumester Karcher structured the five and a half hectare site strictly geometrically into a French-style park. The old castle was demolished down to the old cellar vaults of the former moated castle, which can still be seen today, and a 5 meter high hill was built on top of it. Karcher had a baroque building with a mansard roof, divided by pilasters, built on this hill, surrounded by a two-sided terrace.

In the time of the von Riesch family, after 1763, the park was expanded with an English-style section, which was placed between the balustrade and the Blue Gate. Three fountains lying in one axis and a hunting pavilion were built here.
