The city of Baesweiler erected this brick monument in 1973 to commemorate the tradition of brick baking and bricklaying. It vividly demonstrates the basic elements of the craftsmanship of bricklaying: the wall with different types of bricklaying, the pillar and
the arch as a high gate-like passage, which is particularly ornate in the
free-standing cross vault is used. The draft of this work of art was created by the master builder Heinz Dohmen in 1973.
