The Barbarakapelle is a chapel on Freinberg that was built in 1932 by the Upper Austrian Artillery Association to commemorate those who fell in the First World War. It was damaged by aerial bombs in 1944 and restored in 1950. The chapel has had a Schoenstatt altar1 since 2002. The chapel now belongs to the parish of Linz-St. Martin.
From the viewing platform in front of the chapel there is a good view of the Danube towards the Nibelungen Bridge, Alt-Urfahr and the Bruckner Tower. The chapel can also be clearly seen at night from the Nibelungen Bridge and Urfahr because it is illuminated.
