As befits a true Prussian senior construction director, Karl Friedrich Schinkel had his fingers in the game when building the Grevelsberg church. Architect of the church was Friedrich August Ritter, but only after the acceptance by Schinkel the church could be built. It was built from 1826 to 1830. In its place was previously a collegiate church, which was broken off and reused as building material for the new building.

The small Feldsteinkirche is also a point on the Westphalian Way of St. James.

Hiking

A Protestant church from the first half of the 19th century with later modifications in the Brutalist style. The bells outside the rear portal are interesting: a large one from 1922 and a smaller one, which, according to the inscription, was the ship's bell of the imperial battleship SMS Wittelsbach. On the surrounding wall is a memorial plaque for a Gevelsberg citizen who was shot here during the French occupation in 1813.
