In the inner courtyard of the town hall of Waldkirch there is a fool's fountain, which shows all the fool figures of the Waldkirch carnival. The handsome fountain was built by the Waldkirch sculptor Hubert Bernhard in 1986. The figures are cast in bronze and show Büttel, Kläpperlebub, shirtglunker and the old maid. In the well lies the Bajass, which a candelabrum dips deeper into the water with her broom.

Kollnau and Waldkirch .. because there are tons of old fool customs and traditions that can not be found anywhere else in Germany. Also otherwise Kollnau is a good point to start tours, south to the Kandel, east to Simonswald or north to Siegelau ... my tip for cyclists is: the Kohlenbachtal up to the inn Lindenbühl, then rest, then down to Sexau and straight up to the stronghold, and on to Emmendingen.
