The brick water tower was built on the Marienberg at the beginning of the 20th century in order to maintain the water pressure in the higher-lying houses in Strausberg. It did its job reliably until the fall of the Wall, after which it was shut down. Today it can only be viewed on a few days of the year. From above you then have a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape.

The way to the tower is quite nice and you can walk a little bit uphill and downhill, which is rather rare in Brandenburg. The view is okay, but you won't tell your grandchildren about it 😉
