In the chancel of the Protestant Last Supper Church in Haigerloch there is a reconstruction of the painting “The Last Supper” by Leonardo da Vinci in its original size. The painter Friedrich Schüz thus fulfilled a lifelong dream.

The church is open to visitors daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In the church is a faithful replica of Leonardo's Last Supper. The Düsseldorf painter Friedrich Schüz, a brother of the then pastor Martin Schüz, fulfilled his lifelong dream in Haigerloch. After decades of preoccupation with Leonardo's painterly main work, the Last Supper and its progressive decline, he decided to reconstruct the dimensions of the original, supported by the Tübingen graphic artist Gerhard Halbritter and the Giessen painter Walter Kröll. Thus was the re-creation of the Eucharist by Leonardo da Vinci in the sanctuary of the church.
