The 38.5 m high round silo (round storage) is a striking brick building and a landmark of Eckernförde. It has been on the list of cultural monuments in Eckernförde since 1972. The round silo is in a central location in the port area and can be viewed from many sides. It was erected in a very short construction period from 1931 to 1932 as a granary with a capacity of 3500 tons. The grain silo has not been used since 1986. Noteworthy is the golden angel at the top of the roof. Since 2008, the "Lucifer", a bistro / restaurant, has been located on the ground floor of the round silo as a contrast to the angel. You can see angels on some roofs in Eckernförde (e.g. on the building of the Sparkasse).in-depth sources:

Why do you have to set one and the same highlight 3-4 times here? Bad habit just to get some points?

The round silo cannot be overlooked at the port of Eckernförde and has a significant impact on the cityscape. The striking brick building was built in 1931 and 1932 as a grain silo, was entered in the monument register in 1972 and has not been used as a silo since 1986...
Part of the round silo was converted into a restaurant...
The "Luzifer" café and restaurant is currently located in the lower rooms of the round silo...
