Steep, steeper, steepest is the motto here. From the Kandelstraße up to the Thomas-Hütte you have to overcome approx. 230 Hm/km. Accordingly, this beautiful mountain path is little used and can only be guessed at in places. The entrances are sometimes hardly visible due to forestry work. Not recommended in the summer as it is quite overgrown. In combination with the ascent from Glottertal, it is the steepest thing the Black Forest has to offer.
