The Visserskaai is an important quay / street in the Belgian coastal city of Ostend. For tourists who come to Ostend by rail, this is often the route to the beach, the center and a number of sights.
The Visserskaai is the place where the fishermen of Ostend sell their fish to consumers on the Vistrap.
Two Ostend attractions are located on the Visserskaai: the North Sea Aquarium and the Museum Ship Amadine. The aquarium shows you which animals live in our own North Sea. Amadine is a fishing boat that was active around Iceland until 1995. Now the boat serves as a museum.
There are two places on the Visserskaai where you can buy fish. At the Vistrap you can buy raw, freshly caught fish such as lemon sole, sole and the famous Ostend shrimp. In the fish carts on the quay you can enjoy fish dishes such as fish salads, shrimps and warm wukkels (a type of snail).
