This chapel was built after the Vandans district of Vens was spared from the plague - it remains a regionally important place of pilgrimage to this day.

Pilgrimage Chapel, Our Lady of Vens, Vandans
      History
Initially built securely on a hill, the location of which gradually changed due to the flooding and shifting of the terrain of the Ladritschbach (Vensertobel), the chapel was enlarged by more than half in 1697 and fitted with a small bell in 1698. The current nave was built in 1722. In 1769 a larger bell was purchased and the Stations of the Cross were installed. In 1838 the chapel was largely renovated, blessed and set up for mass on three altars thanks to a donation from Joh. Josef Huber from Bürs.
Further renovations took place in 1876, 1822 and by Gottfried Schoder from Vandans in 1933. In 1981/82 the outer walls were drained, the underside of the gallery was exposed and the pews were renewed. In 2005, the painting on the gallery, depicting the 12 apostles - which had been painted over twice - was uncovered to the version from around 1762.
After the bells had to be handed over for military purposes during the Second World War, a new, donated bell was consecrated in 1949 and a second one was purchased in 1955, both from the Graßmayer foundry in Innsbruck.

Very nice area, unfortunately found almost nothing to stop off.
