The area of the municipality of Bartholomäberg was settled for the first time more than 5,000 years ago. Metals have been mined here since the Bronze Age and the village developed into an important mining center in the Middle Ages. Iron, copper and silver were extracted from the nearby mines.

Whenever I am there, I take the opportunity to visit this beautiful church.

The path leads from the parking lot next to the Baroque church Bartholomäberg to the Rellseck. From there it goes on to the Monteneu rest area then up to the Wannaköpfle. A high path leads to the Itonskopf. The Itonskopf belongs to the Verwall group. From here you have a wonderful view of the Rätikon, Lechquellen Mountains and Verwall. Only the last five minutes of the climb to the summit head are a bit steeper and require easy climbing. Thanks to the good rope protection, there are no problems, only a slight head for heights is required.
