On the outskirts of Aue, directly on the historic Silberstraße, you can relax from everyday stress in a small green oasis. Enclosures designed close to nature, facilities designed with loving details, well-cared for animals and a concept that is unique in the world quickly convey the zoo's concern - people and animals should feel good. In a time of superlatives, when nothing can be big enough, fast enough or spectacular enough, the zoo of the minis shows a completely different world.

While everyone is fascinated by the size of a whale or stands in awe of a giraffe, hardly anyone has ever seen horses that are only 70 cm tall or monkeys that are smaller than a hamster. So it is no coincidence that the word “dwarf” appears very often in the list of kept zoo animals. Pygmy marmosets, dwarf mongooses, dwarf muntjacs, pygmy otters, pygmy macaws, and pygmy gorse are just a few examples.

More than 400 animal minis, including all of the world's smallest breeds of domestic animals and many very rare mini forms from the wild, make a visit to the minis floodplain zoo a very special experience. And so that the human dwarfs also feel comfortable, there is a playground, petting zoo and the possibility of celebrating a children's birthday party in the zoo by prior arrangement.

The zoo, which is known and loved far beyond the region, is proud of its many prominent animal sponsors, such as Günther Jauch, Inka Bause, Jens Weißflog, Dieter "Machine" Birr, Uwe Steimle and many more.
