From the saddle of the Femene plateau you have an incredible view of the Po plain in front of you. When the weather is clear, you can see as far as the Mediterranean Sea, while the chain of the Belluno Dolomites rises behind you to the north.

Located between Mount Cor and Boral, surrounded by rounded hills, Pian delle Femene is remembered as one of the places of the partisan resistance during the Second World War. Here, in September 1944, during the massive Nazi-fascist roundup, the Mazzini and Tollot brigades joined to reach Pian Cansiglio, base of the Garibaldi assault division. Today, in addition to a stele in memory of those events, we can find the resistance museum named after Agostino Piol, gold medal for military valor, and the monument to the Partisan Woman by sculptor Gianni Pezzei.
This saddle, which connects the province of Treviso with the Limana Canal and the Valmorel, is also mentioned in "Road crossings in Italy. Catalog of 4000 Italian crossings ", the impressive research work conducted by Georges Rossini, an inseparable handbook for all those who want to know and travel the mountain and hilly roads that lead to the Italian crossings. Its name, "Piano delle Femmine", does not seem to have some mythological origin, but refers, more prosaically, to the activity of exchanging goods with the Treviso plain, as told by Paolo Dalla Vestra in one of the many notebooks of "Oronyms Bellunesi ”, The result of a complex study plan of mountain toponymy. Tobacco, grappa and dairy products were entrusted to women because they were less suspicious or because, as others suggest, they could convince the inspectors to turn a blind eye by highlighting their graces.

if the weather cooperates, you can see the lagoon of Venice from here.
