The Steling Hut is on the Eifelsteig and is at the crossroads of the Konzener Weg and the Pilgerweg on the edge of the Steinley nature reserve. This beautiful refuge was built in 2003 by hard-working members of the Eifelverein Konzen with the support of some forest workers and other helpers under the direction of Alfred Jost, forester at the Eupen II forestry office.
The hut, a good 3 x 2.50 meters, is made of larch wood on the outside and spruce wood on the inside. The roof is covered with asphalt.
The men of the Eifelverein invested around 200 hours in the structure. Source: grenzecho.net/art/region/euregio/stelinghuette-ein-symbol- Grenzenueberschreitender-z Zusammenarbeit
