A few years before bankruptcy in 1978, the American construction machinery manufacturer Koehring took over the business and relocated the company headquarters with around 2,000 employees from Hamburg-Altona to Ellerau in Schleswig-Holstein.
After the bankruptcy, only the piling technology division remained from the former traditional company, which has operated under the name Menck GmbH since 1992.
