Thorong La is a pass that connects the Manang area to that of Mustang. Positioned at an altitude of 5,416 metres, Thorong La has long been used as a pass to connect remote Mustang and Muktinath to Manang. The pass is almost always overcome in an anti-clockwise direction as the climb is easier.

We did it in March 2020 and we had very much snow ❄️, ice and freezing 🥶 winds. It was incredible beautiful but quite exhausting as well. Getting up around 3.am something to hit the path latest around 4.am is recommended. At least if you start one below High Camp. Muktinath is awaiting you 🤗

Who has managed, has really made something (5,416 m)! Funky and overwhelming: even at this altitude you can still see the much higher eight-thousanders. Unforgettable.
