The church was built at the end of the 13th century as a hall, towerless building, without a separate chancel. The current wooden tower was added in the 18th century. At that time, a new roof truss was built, the crown of the walls was rebuilt and the window openings were enlarged. In the 1980s, a sacristy and a rectory were added to the southern wall.
