Seoul City Hall is the modern city hall and government building of Seoul City on Seoul Plaza.In front of it stands the former city hall of Seoul, an example of architecture in the Japanese "Imperial Crown Style". It was built in 1925 during the Japanese occupation of Korea. It served as the city hall from the liberation of Korea in 1945 until the construction of the modern building in 2008. Today it houses the Seoul Metropolitan Library.
