Highest bridge, famous masterpiece
When the bridge was opened to traffic in 1897, it was considered a technical marvel, and it is still impressive today: 107 meters high and 500 meters long, it spans the narrow valley of the Wupper, which shows itself here at its most beautiful. The dimensions of the structure are impressive, but it does not appear massive. Light and floating, it blends into the beautiful landscape.
To this day, the Müngsten Bridge is an important transport link: it shortens the railway line between Solingen and Remscheid from 44 to eight kilometers, and the "Müngstener", the S7, runs over it every day. In order to make it fit for the future, it has been completely renovated in recent years. The entire steel structure has been technically overhauled, rust removed and freshly coated - in accordance with the monument protection authorities. (Source Solingen.de)

Insiders know this. Wonderful area for horse riding, ride and tie, hiking or mushroom hunting.
Around the Muengsten Bridge there are beautiful views of nature and the Wupper and the bridge and of course the bridge park.
Alongside Burg Castle and the suspension railway, Muengsten is a must.
