De Moerkuilen is a peat pond in the Dommeldal. Here you will find different types of water lilies, pond herbs, snake root and sedge species. This lake was created in a depression with peat soil that was excavated for the extraction of peat. Hence the name peat lake. This fish-rich peat lake attracts many birds. A swamp forest has developed around this lake, this forest is bordered by overgrown river dunes. There is a varied flora including fishing rod and valley herb.

Near Lieshoutsedijk 34 there is a parking lot where a beautiful walking route starts that leads through the Moerkuilen and Dommelbeemden.
