  • In 1959 the house was saved from demolition through a private initiative and then renovated. Since then, the Aurich Heimatverein and the folk dance group have been using it as a clubhouse.

  • The Pingelhus is from the year 1800. Pingeln is Low German for ringing. So - the bell was always rung when inland vessels departed.
    The building with the striking hipped roof was originally a port warden and forwarding building. But the old port was filled up in 1934 and is now only used for celebrations.
