"Here at the Wachwitz spring, elephants from the Sarrasani Circus drank in 1916. Since horses and tractors were needed for the First World War, the circus elephants, wearing leather overshoes, had to transport cabbage, turnips, and potatoes as food rations to Wachwitz in wagons."
