On a circular route around the Maschsee, this view from the middle of the south bank is a "feast for the eyes". During my laps around the Hannover body of water, I have always photographed here. I have been delighted by this motif in all seasons.

What many visitors to Hanover mistake for a castle is actually the New Town Hall: The Wilhelminian-era magnificent building from 1913 is today one of the landmarks of the Leine metropolis. "All paid in cash, Your Majesty!", proudly exclaimed city director Heinrich Tramm to Kaiser Wilhelm II at the inauguration. The city had spent over ten million marks on its representative town hall, which was built on 6,026 beech piles.
