The covered Canadian footbridge forms the end of the middle Wutach Gorge and was built in 1976 by Canadian pioneers. It leads from the mouth of the Gauchach to the high mountain spur opposite with the former spur castle Hörnle.

After the Canadian footbridge follows the beautiful Gauchach estuary, which invites you to linger.

A wooden bridge leads over the Wutach. For example, you can combine a Wuchach Gorge hike with a Gauchach Gorge hike.

The Canadian footbridge leads from the path of the Schluchtensteig to the mouth of the Gauchach.
There, a large area with tree stumps and dead wood offers a good opportunity to linger, which can even be reached by the sun.

The Gauchachschlucht, the little sister of the Wutachschlucht, is not an insider tip, but is not visited so often and is hardly crowded even on fine days. The Gauchach rises south of Oberbränd, flows past Dittishausen and Döggingen and flows above the Wutachmühle in the Wutach. But the actual "Gauchachschlucht" begins only below Döggingen, where the brook has eaten deep into the hard shell limestone rock.

The pivot between the Wutachschlucht direction Schattenmühle, the Gauchachschlucht and the Wutachmühle. Everyone meets here and orients itself anew. In the Gauchach and direction Tränkebach / Engeschlucht or rather Wutachschlucht? I leave that to you;)

The Wutachschlucht offers for young and old an unforgettable hiking experience. It is located in the heart of Germany's largest nature park - in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park. The Wutachschlucht is not for nothing called the largest canyon in Germany. Because during the tour through the 60 to 170 meters deep gorge, we come past rushing waterfalls, rugged valleys, adventurous wild rivers and come across the diverse flora and fauna.

Located right next to a wooden bridge, this estuary is a really great place for a rest. We cooled down there and enjoyed the water noise.

Great bridge. This is where Gauchach and Wutach come together and you can see this wonderfully from the bridge.

Beautifully landscaped bridge as a transition to Gauchachachlucht- the less crowded, but sometimes neat uphill leading "sister".

The bridges were needed after a landslide made the original path impassable. 😀

The sharp bend that the Wutach makes here is ideal for the two bridges that were installed here. You can look at the clear water from above very nicely and there is a wonderful opportunity to get into the water, it's nice and gravelly and shallow - if the Wutach doesn't have too much water.

We paused here when it rained heavily. Practical that the bridge is covered.
