I personally prefer the poppy bloom in Grandenborn to the overcrowded Germerode.

The fields (poppies and wildflowers) are laid out in such a way that they can easily be explored on a leisurely 5 km walk (approximately 1-1.5 hours). There are numerous colorful photo opportunities. If you have the chance, try to do your walk here as early in the morning as possible, as it's less crowded then.

The poppy bloom is usually at its most beautiful from mid-June to mid-July.
