Start & finish was the "Freundenthal" car park near Wandersleben. Our goal for the day was to hike all three castles in summer temperatures (27 degrees). We started at 10 a.m. in the direction of Gleichen Castle. A beautiful castle ruin, which you can see for 3.- € per person. From the tower we saw our next destination: the Mühlburg. Also a castle ruin that is smaller than its first "sister", but is worth a visit (entrance fee: € 2.50 per person). After the visit, it went over beautiful forest paths and paths as well as wonderfully flowering meadows to the Wachsenburg (€ 5 per person entry), which offers great restaurants and a hotel. We were lucky because we got a shady spot in the courtyard (in front of the torture chamber 😵) and a cold beer as a reward 💚😊👌. After a short rest, we hiked back to Wandersleben and arrived there, bitten by a lot of mosquitoes and pretty broken, even just before a heavy downpour. Conclusion: great area, which we as Thuringians could really enjoy again today and can highly recommend.PS: thanks to fbn for bringing this wonderful tour back to our memories👌😊👍

The extra tour "Museum Tour" in the Rhön was on our hiking plan today. Start & finish was the museum train station in Fladungen / Bavaria.
We ran the tour counter-clockwise and the first 5 km went steadily uphill, which made us sweat quite a bit. Then we walked through beautiful flower meadows and fields and decided to take a look at the Black Moor. It was the highlight of this tour and we highly recommend it.
The Rhön usually always offers a great view of Thuringia, Bayer, Hesse. Unfortunately it was very cloudy and hazy today, so we didn't have this experience of nature.
Conclusion: a 25km long tour through woods, fields and meadows with unfortunately often very stony ground, but worthwhile💚👣👌🌞😊👍

Something is finally possible again and so we bought tickets for the Cathedral Stage Festival in Erfurt. Since the weather was really nice yesterday, Friday, we integrated the evening event into a small but nice city tour through Erfurt. The start was at Kressepark, a nature and adventure park in the south of Erfurt. In the park there is the Villa Haage (a wonderful restaurant & café), a loft club and a farm shop, which offers freshly caught trout, among other things). Since the park unfortunately closes its gates in the evening, we had to change the plan and park our car in the multi-storey car park at Erfurt main station. From there we ran in a rabbit zigzag through the streets of Erfurt and had a really good time at the end of the week💚🌞👌😊🍦🍹🍺.
There were still great works of art to marvel at at Petersbergberg.
The opera "The Maid of Orleans" began punctually at 8:30 pm. Fascinating sets, beautiful costumes and of course the music by Peter Tschaikowsky, which lets you feel how deeply the Russian composer immersed himself in the soul of the main character, put me totally in the act of the opera - wonderful!
We are already looking forward to 2022 (July 15th to August 7th) - the opera by Giuseppe Verdi "Nabucco" 😍

Today we ran our 19th premium walk in Hessen. The P3 is a demanding hiking trail, 20 km in length. We started on the edge of Eschwege at the Felsenkeller restaurant and guesthouse. The first 2km went straight through the beautiful half-timbered town of Eschwege. The temptation to sit down in one of the many beautiful cafes was great, but we stayed brave - we still had 20km to go 😄. Over fields and meadows it went steadily uphill to the blue knoll (an extinct volcano - today a nature reserve). We went on to the Lotzenkopf, which demanded quite a bit of stamina🥴. We were compensated with a great view over Eschwege. The Bismarck Tower (with 109 steps to the top) and the Schäferhalle on the large Leuchtberg are great highlights of this tour.
Conclusion: the P3 is not the most beautiful, but the longest premium route in Hessen (in our opinion), but it belongs to the P-route family (25 premium routes) and it was not that uninteresting either

Today we ran our 18th premium trail in Hessen - the P13. Start & finish: parking lot at the Teichhof in Grandenborn. A wonderful tour with a very varied route: meadows, fields & narrow, winding forest paths. There are some steep climbs, but everything goes very well. The reason to walk this P-way at the beginning of July was the beautiful splendor of poppies 💚. At the destination there was the ice cream and a cool drink🌞😊🍺👌💚
Conclusion: one of the most beautiful P-routes in Frau Holle Land.

On our hiking-to-do list today was the extra tour "Mill Tour" near Fulda. The long journey for us (140km) was very worth it. Start & finish: Kleinheiligkreuz with a wonderful Kneipp basin, which we enjoyed extensively at the end of the tour. The tour went very well with a sunny 24 degrees. On the way there were plenty of places to rest and benches with a great view of the Rhön. Unfortunately, the three mills are very close to each other, so we decided on the Hessenmühle to charge our batteries with beer & ice there. Conclusion: highly recommended & extremely well signposted, with great pleasure again - thank you Hessen 💚🧡💚🧡💚🙋♀️

A great tour - thanks to fbn👍 for the inspiration😊 The moated castle and the small but very romantic park as well as the hotel are a dream & the environment anyway. The tour has very moderate climbs and descents and is really easy to walk. Rest areas, shelters & the great forest sofas are plentiful along the way.
