Flanked by an alley of Muslim origin, this house museum, whose title means the house of the heads, is one of the most emblematic places in Cordoba. According to the legend, rather morbid, I must say, this residence was the Alcázar de Almanzor and the prison of Gonzalo Gustioz, father of the seven children of Lara, who contemplated in these places the severed heads of his offspring, presented on a plate money, hence the name. It is a fine example of medieval houses that can be found in the old town.

The Casa de las Cabezas is a historic building and a fascinating place, known both for its architecture and the legends that surround it. The building is now a museum and an excellent example of the Islamic and Christian architecture that characterizes the history of Cordoba. It is a typical example of an Andalusian manor house that combines elements from Moorish and Christian architecture.

The name "House of Heads" comes from a legend that the heads of seven beheaded noblemen were displayed in this place. Legend has it that seven Christian knights were captured and beheaded by an Islamic ruler. Their heads were said to have been displayed as a deterrent, which is how the house got its name. The house has been restored and turned into a museum. Visitors can gain insight into the life of a wealthy family in medieval Cordoba. Furniture, decorations and architectural details are authentic and worth seeing.

The Casa de las Cabezas, also known as the House of the Heads, is a historic house in Córdoba. The house dates back to the Middle Ages and offers a unique insight into the daily life of the aristocratic families of that time. The house has four distinct areas, including a basement wall, four courtyards, and several rooms and kitchens.

One of the most striking features of the house is the heads placed above the doors of the rooms, which explains the name of the house. The house also has a historic Roman bathtub that was used by the Jewish residents for ritual purposes.
