Isarwerk 2 is one of three run-of-river power plants on the Isar in the urban area of Munich and one of six hydropower plants on the Isarwerk Canal, and thus forms one of the numerous water production puzzle pieces along the Isar (an exciting overview of the entire system of energy production on the Isar is available on Wikipedia at de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_von_Wasserkraftwerken_an_der_Isar). It dates from 1921-23 and was modernized in 2008-10.
